As our GTM Data Engineer, you’ll help Profound maximize the value of customer data to drive delightful product experiences and unlock leverage for our Engagement Management team. You'll design the systems, heuristics, and data frameworks that identify customer needs, guide strategic engagement, and surface opportunities for deeper product adoption.

What You’ll Do

  • Map the customer journey to data-driven heuristics so we understand usage, adoption, and friction — enabling proactive engagement when customers are struggling.
  • Identify opportunities to expand into new products, features, and workflows based on behavioral and account-level signals.
  • Design frameworks for customer lifecycle triggers where we want to push automated engagement or nudges that drive activation and retention.
  • Identify anti-patterns in data that indicate risk, churn, or moments where Engagement Managers need to intervene.
  • Build pipelines, models, and data workflows that power GTM insights across Product, Customer Success, and Sales.
  • Collaborate closely with Engagement Managers, Product, Data Engineering, and GTM leadership to operationalize insights and improve customer outcomes.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and usability across GTM datasets, dashboards, and internal tooling.

Who You Are

  • Strong experience with Python, SQL, and statistical analysis, with comfort working across large and complex datasets.
  • 3–5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, product analytics, GTM analytics, or a related role at a high-growth SaaS company.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous product and customer questions into crisp, data-driven frameworks.
  • Comfortable owning pipelines end-to-end — from data modeling to surfacing actionable insights.
  • Curiosity and product intuition: you think deeply about why customers behave the way they do and how data can predict those patterns.
  • Collaborative and proactive — you work closely with cross-functional teams and take ownership of outcomes.
  • Bonus: experience with lifecycle modeling, behavioral heuristics, predictive scoring, or customer journey analytics.

Location

This is an on-site role based in our Union Square office, designed for builders who thrive on speed, iteration, and meaningful impact.

For this role, the expected base salary range is $140,000 – $190,000. Profound’s total compensation package is designed to be competitive and includes base salary, equity, and a full range of benefits and perks. Final compensation will depend on factors such as your skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and will be determined during the interview process.
