Today, we’re excited to announce the public beta of Profound Workflows, a new way for marketing teams to automate content operations that help them win in the rapidly changing landscape of AI search.

Over the past year, we’ve had thousands of conversations with content, SEO, and growth teams across some of the most sophisticated organizations in the world. Nearly all of them told us the same thing: content operations are still far too manual, and traditional tooling hasn’t kept up with how people search, evaluate, and discover information today.
Workflows is our answer to that problem.
Why we built workflows
Marketing and SEO teams are operating in a world where:
- Content performance is influenced by dozens of signals across channels.
- Search experiences are increasingly conversational and intent-driven.
- High-velocity iteration is critical, but teams remain bottlenecked by repetitive tasks.
- Cross-functional subject-matter experts are overloaded, leaving marketers struggling to scale production while maintaining quality
We saw an opportunity to bring structure to this complexity and give teams an automated system that can consume billions of AI responses, evaluate the content cited as answer sources, identify opportunities, and actually do the work required to act on these insights at scale.
Just as important, we wanted to build something that reduces the operational load on marketers rather than adding to it. As one early partner put it, their workflows were “being held together by sheer willpower and spreadsheets.”
That’s what led to Profound Workflows: a flexible automation layer built directly on top of our AEO platform, capable of running deep analysis, generating insights, and powering downstream content operations with zero routine manual effort.
How it works

Workflows lets teams codify their best practices into automated checks, analyses, insights, and actions. With a few clicks, marketers can build repeatable processes that:
- Audit content for AEO, SEO, UX, and brand alignment
- Refresh content to better perform in AI search
- Generate research-backed content briefs and outlines
- Analyze competitive insights
- Produce ongoing reports on content health, performance, or gaps
- Trigger recommendations for writers, editors, and SMEs
During private beta, teams built everything from “weekly content decay reports” to “semantic competitor analyses” to “subject-matter expert briefing systems.” What they previously handled with dozens of tabs, scattered tools, and manual reviews is now centralized, consistent, and automated.
Early teams using Workflows
The response from our private beta partners has been incredible. Leading organizations are already using Workflows to rethink how they scale SEO and content:
Anja Simic, Director of Content Marketing at Deel
Fiona Erickson, SEO Lead at MongoDB
Sarah Shaffer, Organic Growth Specialist at Plaid
Across all of these teams, one theme keeps emerging: Workflows give marketers leverage. They unlock automation where it previously wasn’t possible, and they standardize processes that used to depend entirely on tribal knowledge.

What’s next
Public beta is just the beginning. Over the coming months, we’ll be shipping new cutting-edge capabilities inside the product at the rapid pace Profound has become known for. By the end of the year, you’ll be able to schedule workflows to run automatically, integrate with your existing tools, and leverage dozens of pre-built templates.
Our goal is simple: make content operations radically more efficient, more intelligent, and more adaptive to the new world of search.
To everyone who helped shape Workflows during private beta - thank you. Your feedback, creativity, and ambition pushed us to build something better than we initially imagined.
And to teams joining us now during public beta: we can’t wait to see what you build.
