With every platform shift, Marketing is asked to do more work.
Social didn't replace search.
It added to it.
Video didn't replace written content.
It added to it.
AI search isn't replacing anything either.
It's a new layer on top.
The work grows exponentially. Headcount grows linearly. For decades there was no way to get ahead of it, so we did it with brute force.
Today, agents research, draft, analyze, and execute. But, most teams haven't figured out what to do with this.
A few teams have, and they all share one commonality: a full-stack marketer with the skills of a builder.
They look at a manual process and see a system to be automated. They've already built the tools that multiple teams now rely on, even though nobody asked them to.
Their work has outgrown their traditional title.
We started calling them Marketing Engineers.
