Understanding how your brand appears on Google is foundational to any AEO strategy. But manually searching queries, scanning SERP features, and tracking changes across locations takes time that marketing teams don't have. We built Profound's new Google Search node to bring real-time Google SERP data directly into your Agents, so you can monitor, analyze, and act on search intelligence in one platform.
The Google Search node lets you programmatically query Google and retrieve structured results as part of any Agent. Instead of toggling between tools or relying on screenshots to track what's happening on the SERP, you can now pull that data into automated workflows and pair it with Profound's AEO intelligence for a complete picture of your brand's visibility across both traditional and AI search.
What the Google Search node returns
The node is powered by SerpAPI and supports a range of Google SERP features that give you a comprehensive view of the search landscape:
AI Overviews
Retrieve the AI-generated summaries that Google surfaces at the top of results for many queries. Understand how Google's own AI is framing your brand, your competitors, and the topics you care about.
Knowledge Graphs
Pull structured entity data from Google's Knowledge Graph, including descriptions, related entities, and key facts. Useful for tracking how Google understands your brand at the entity level.
People Also Ask
Capture the related questions Google surfaces for a given query. These represent real user intent signals and are valuable for content strategy and FAQ optimization.
Related Searches
See what Google considers adjacent to your target queries. This helps identify new content opportunities and understand how search behavior clusters around your brand's topics.
Organic Results
Retrieve the standard organic listings for any query, including titles, descriptions, and URLs.
Granular location targeting
Search results vary by geography, and the Google Search node accounts for that. You can target searches at the city, state, or country level, and supply locations dynamically via variables for scaled execution across markets. If you're running a multi-region brand, you can build a single Agent that checks how your content appears in New York, London, and Tokyo without duplicating work.
How to use it

The Google Search node lives in the Agents builder alongside your existing nodes. Configure it by entering a search query, selecting a location, and choosing which result types you want to include. You can check one or multiple SERP features per query, and the structured output flows downstream into any connected node for analysis, content generation, reporting, or alerting.
Here are a few ways Profound customers can put the node to work:
SERP monitoring at scale
Build an Agent that runs daily searches for your highest-priority queries and routes the results to a Slack channel or report. Track shifts in organic rankings, changes to AI Overviews, and new People Also Ask questions over time without manual effort.
Competitive SERP analysis
Pair the Google Search node with Profound's AI visibility data to compare how your brand appears on Google versus how it appears in Answer Engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity. Identify gaps where you rank well on Google but are missing from AI-generated answers, or vice versa.
Content ideation from real queries
Pull People Also Ask and Related Searches data into content creation Agents. Feed those signals into an LLM node to generate briefs, outlines, or full drafts that are grounded in what people are actually searching for.
AI Overview tracking
Monitor how Google's AI Overviews represent your brand, products, and competitive category. Build alerts that notify your team when an AI Overview changes for a tracked query, so you can respond quickly with updated content or optimization.
A note on what changed
The Google Search node replaces the previous Google SERP Results and People Also Ask nodes, which have been deprecated. Existing Agents that use the older nodes will continue to work, but we recommend migrating to the new Google Search node to take advantage of the expanded feature set, including AI Overviews, Knowledge Graphs, Related Searches, and granular location support.
Get started
The Google Search node is available today for Enterprise customers of Profound as well as self-serve customers with trial Agent runs still available. If you are not a customer of Profound and interested in taking advantage of what this integration unlocks, we encourage you to get a demo to see it in action.
